On the fingertips of coconut‐land artisans, dry coconut sheaths, once seemingly lifeless, are “awakened.” Ivory-brown fibers slowly become paper with a water-silky grain, holding the warmth of the soil and the sun of Ben Tre. Upon that surface, Song Ngu Vong Nguyệt takes shape: two carps circling tenderly beneath the moon, ripples whispering like the hush of a peaceful night.
Inspired by the quiet grace of Vietnamese countryside scenes, autumn moon tilted on the water, rings of light across the surface, fins glimmering, the artwork carries auspicious meaning in every line: “Song Ngu” symbolizes abundance and harmony; “Nguyet” evokes wholeness and serenity.
