Ben Tre has long been known as one of Vietnam’s key coconut-producing regions. Although, following administrative restructuring, this area is now part of the newly formed Vinh Long province, Ben Tre is still widely recognized within the coconut industry as a region of particular importance. As of 2025, this area remains the largest coconut-growing region in the country, with more than 80,000 hectares, accounting for approximately 42% of Vietnam’s total coconut cultivation area.

COMOON selects Ben Tre coconuts to introduce to international customers for several reasons.
First, Ben Tre’s advantage lies in its large cultivation area and the long-established development of its coconut industry. Coconut trees here are closely tied to the livelihoods and daily lives of local people. Over generations, farmers have accumulated extensive cultivation experience, gained a deep understanding of different coconut varieties, and learned how to maximize the circular value of the coconut tree across various production activities.
Second, the coconut processing ecosystem in Ben Tre is highly developed and stable, covering a wide range of products such as coconut water, coconut meat, coconut fiber, coconut husk chips, coco peat, and many other by-products. This is one of the key factors that has made the region a familiar hub for raw material sourcing, including for both domestic and international traders. The dynamic nature of the raw material market further reinforces Ben Tre’s position within Vietnam’s coconut supply chain.
Third, the coconut supply and varieties in Ben Tre are diverse, meeting different production needs—from coconuts for drinking to those used in processing coconut meat, coconut oil, and other value-added products. This diversity provides favorable conditions for businesses to develop a wide range of coconut-based product lines.
For COMOON, maintaining a strong connection with Ben Tre’s coconut-growing region is a strategic choice based on supply stability, raw material quality, and long-term development potential. Building on this foundation, the company aims to develop coconut-based products that meet requirements for quality, cost efficiency, and competitiveness, while also contributing to enhancing the value of Vietnamese coconuts in both domestic and international markets.
